maybe more than he wanted but without a car it was kinda up to others to get me to and from

long day

today is my first official day at my new job. and things have not gotten off to a good start. first my car broke down over the weekend. i had to get my mom to bring me into work. my boss was 30 minutes late. and shes a spaz. she did one hour and a half massage then left with her client. (which is never a good sign) she left me here on my first day to man the phones, do massages, make appointments, etc. luckily the phone has only rang once and i have had no massages. i made a list of all the things i could see right off the bat that needed to change around this place. and her excuse is the owner doesnt have time. well you are the manager, you do it. but whatever. so my granny gets to take me home tonight. but not til after i work 12 hours (sit 12 hours) here at this place instead of at home where i couldve finished cleaning my house or watching pretty little liars. ( im addicted to that show. sorry) 

i am however, reading pride and prejudice in between checking my facebook and writing this post and the guest blog im supposed to be doing. 

here are some pics of my current job. ( i saw current because i dont know how long this will last, if i dont start getting clients and all.)

Meet Perry Penderghast

Tonight, Cody and I went to see Paranorman, and it is beyond fantastic!!!!

 i definitely recommend it to all adults and children.

 then we went to dave n' busters to play some games and to try for the undetermined amount of times to get 9000 tickets so i could take home a giant pink gorilla. and as luck has it. We hit the jackpot! we got 9994 tickets accumulated by the end of the end night.(which includes all tickets from the last 5 months...dont ask how much we spent on this. we had fun.)

 So here he is....

8 week bikini diet

Now, i understand that bikini season, is nearly over, but that doesnt mean i dont want to look good anyway. so begins the 8 week diet and exercise routine. (yes, i can start a weekly routine in the middle of the week)
i have what they call a "Heavy Ruler" body type. basically the same mesurements around waits, breasts and hips. and i gain all over.

this is what my typical food intake will look like for the next 8 weeks. 

Breakfast
1 egg, scrambled with 1/4 cup spinach and 2 tablespoons mozzarella cheese 
1 slice turkey bacon
1 slice whole wheat toast with 1/2 teaspoon butter or skip it the butter.
Snack
1 small apple
1 tablespoon almond butter
Lunch
Salad: 2 cups mixed greens, 1 tomato, 2 ounces sliced cooked skinless chicken breast, 1 hard-cooked egg, 1/2 avocado, 1 tablespoon reduced-fat feta cheese tossed with 2 tablespoons reduced-fat Italian dressing
6 whole wheat crackers
Snack
1 small apple
1 piece string cheese
Dinner
3-ounce chicken breast marinated in 1 tablespoon Italian dressing and grilled
1 small baked potato, with skin, topped with 1 tablespoon each light sour cream and chives
1/2 cup steamed broccoli with 1 teaspoon olive oil
Dessert
1 cup coconut yogurt or light yogurt mixed with 2 tablespoons bran cereal and 1/2 cup frozen blueberries.

sunday funday

today was my cousins childrens birthday party.
3 of her 5 children celebrated today. the oldest turned 7 years old, the there was a 5 and 4 year old.
my cousin had one of those huge moonwalk water slides. it was insane. about 20 children, soaking wet, running around sliding into a small pool like area. we had alot of fun.
hot dogs and frito pies. classic texas food.
cupcakes shoved in the kids faces. (birthday tradition, thanks to their Tia)
and good ol' wet fun.

~my tattoo artist dog, Socrates. cutest dog. when you pat his side, he drops down head first to the floor so you can pat his belly.

~another amazing car i saw yesterday. i love the color. and it has ostrich leather interior.

Zucchini Turkey Burgers from Gina Skinny Recipes

tonights dinner

I made Zucchini Turkey Burgers yesterday, while i was in the kitchen making meals to freeze for the next couple of weeks. I got the recipe from Skinny taste and only modified the breadcrumbs. I changed them out for ground quick oats. the only thing i need to remember for next time when cooking these burgers. because i will cook them again, is more salt (or salt substitute) and to cook them longer.

today, i warmed one patty up, and ate it with a whole roma tomato and whole avocado. it was delightful. 

this is me trying to eat healthier. :)

~breakfast. Banana Caramel French Toast from Denny's. boy it was tasty.

~The Breakfast Club. how long has it been since you have watched this movie? i am currently watching it. and it is just as good as it was the first time i watched it. :)

~molly ringwald. my idol. i have loved her since i was a child and i still love her. She is beautiful and funny. i always get told i look like her. but i dont see it at all.

~mason dress. this dress is fabulous holy crap. i cant get enough of pinterest. it is ridiculous. but i find awesome things i will never afford.

`midget. when im at home. she never leaves my side. 

HP Music Awards.

Yesterday was the Houston Press Music Awards Showcase. 

And believe me it was so much FUN! 

if you didn't get to go, you really missed out.

Roxy and I started at House of Blues for my favorite Houston band. 

ELECTRIC ATTITUDE!!

we bar hopped from there to 5 other near by bars seeing bands we had never heard of.

Bang Bangz 

Some of it was good, some something we could appreciate, some we couldn't even handle (okay that was just me), and then there were two bands that really stood out! 

CHango Man, a Latino band with a variety of band members, young, old, punk looking. The lead singer I swear was Cheech Marin. They had multiple drummers and did Latino remixes of the Beatles! So much fun.

Bang Bangz, a 3 piece band. Female lead, with a killer voice. Drummer and a  guitarist/ bassists. Their beats are fast and hard hitting but their slow lyrics are what really got me. I couldnt help but love them.

I should also tell you about Electric Attitude. Not only would I consider them good friends of mine, they are the best in Houston. Upbeat tempos, saxophone and trumpet players, killer dance moves, and sick lyrics to accompany the very different voices of Blake and Kwesi. 

Now, to the best part of my night. The food. Parked outside was Koagie Hots! And oh my gosh, I had this corn dog rightfully named Korn Dog!! Beer Battered, covered in aioli and sweet chili sauce, and topped with scallions. It was absolutely positively delicious. If you happen to see the wonderful Koagie Hots food truck sitting around. Get some! you wont be sorry.

tonight's sky.

Beautiful night outside. The Sun creating a glorious pink and blue sky, the temperature is just right. Not too hot, even though it is Texas. Just drinking homemade Peach Iced Tea, enjoying the quiet.
